July Adventures

July has been a busy month for us. We had to make a quick trip to Southern California for my Grandfather's funeral. It was a sad occasion but a happy one too since all the family got to gather. I hadn't seen my oldest brother and his family since they moved to Washington so it was fun to see everyone again.

About ten days later we left on our vacation. Yeah! We drove to Las Vegas and spent the night at the Aria and saw the Cirque Du Soleil show. We walked around some of the fancy hotels and even visited the M&M store which is four stories of M&M's.

We left Las Vegas and drove to Los Angeles and spent time looking at the buildings, of course. We saw the Disney Concert Hall, rode the Angel's Flight finicular and saw the cathedral. Very cool. We stayed at my aunt's house in Ventura and then drove up to Northern California stopping at Santa Barbara to see the mission and also visited Solvang.

The last part of our July vacation was a trip to Alcatraz. We took the ferry over to San Francisco with my Mom, sister and her husband and toured The Rock. Absolutely gorgeous day and since James had never been there before he really enjoyed it. We leave from my parents' home on our anniversary to drive up the Northern California coast for more vacation time. See August post later.
