Fall Fun

Over the past few weeks we've done a number of exciting Fall activities. Some highlights have been making caramel apples, the David Archeleta Corn maze, and pumpkin carving. After spending the morning pressing fresh apple cider on the farm we found even more apples to play with. Mom orchestrated the whole operation, Caitlin was a pro caramel dipper, I continue to be thoroughly impressed by her, she exceeds even my highest expectations.


After apples, we went up to Cornbelly's Corn Maze at Thanksgiving Point. We tried the harder part of the maze, but somehow ended up in the wrong half of the maze, disappointing, but not unsurprising as we may have taken some illegal shortcuts. After about 45 minutes, we finally found a way out, albeit the wrong exit. It was pretty fun traipsing over David's mouth, it's an honor that all Utahns should enjoy.



My favorite activity would definitely have to be the pumpkin carving. We did one at my parents' place, a huge pumpkin from Grandpa's garden. Jack Skellington seemed appropriate as we'd just finished watching the Nightmare before Christmas.

It turned out okay, but the second round was even better, because Caitlin did her own and was more involved. She choose a template that came with our carving tools, supposedly it was pretty easy, but it still took a good 2 hours. I choose a frame from Charlie Brown's Halloween, which turned out quite well in my opinion, which is obviously very biased as I continue to work on my "hero architect" complex.
